2.تشجيع المشاركة والدعم: تحفيز السودانيين في الخارج إلى جانب المجتمع الدولي على الانخراط في المبادرات الإنسانية والمساهمة الفعالة من خلال التبرعات ودعم النداءات الدولية

3.الاستفادة من التجارب الدولية: يسعى المؤتمر للاستفادة من الخبرات السودانية بالخارج وتوظيف الدروس المستخلصة من تجارب الدول الأخرى التي واجهت أزمات مشابهة بهدف استلهام الحلول المناسبة لإعادة بناء السودان

For more than one year now since 15th April 2023, the deadly war and fighting in Sudan is continuing with all its serious consequences. And although the fighting erupted between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Armed Forces, civilians have become the victims of the various clashes.

This multi-disciplinary emergency conference bring together international experts and high level International Diaspora (researchers, practitioners, policy-makers, private sector, ordinary citizen) from the public and private sectors to share their strategic vision on the future of Sudan and how the Diaspora can contribute to help Sudan in such a difficult time. We aim to foster collaboration between Sudanese abroad and the international community to achieve sustainable peace and rebuild Sudan in a way that ensures dignity and prosperity for its people.

The conference aims to achieve the following key goals:

Exploring and proposing sustainable reconstruction solutions: the conference seeks to review and discuss various means and strategies to accelerate the process of rebuilding and reconstructing Sudan after the cessation of hostilities.
Encouraging participation and support: the conference aims to inspire Sudanese abroad, along with the international community, to actively engage in humanitarian initiatives and contribute through donations and support for international appeals.
Leveraging international experiences: the conference aspires to benefit from the expertise of Sudanese abroad and draw lessons from the experiences of other nations that have faced similar crises, to inspire effective solutions for Sudan’s reconstruction.

This conference is part of our Diaspora International Conference Series aims to provide the participants the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences from all over the world on major global issues; the emphasis is on the importance of evidence-based planning to overcome the challenges facing their countries of origin efforts to achieve a sustainable future.

The conference will provide the opportunity for all Sudanese Diaspora (individuals and groups) to share their various humanitarian and logistical efforts to help Sudan particularly fund raising and donations. Als there is an opportunity for international colleagues and friends of Sudan to send their solidarity messages to the people in Sudan. We are also hoping to have a session for questions and answers for the recent updates on the grounds and act as a press conference for all the press and media in the UK and across the world.

Objectives

According to various international reports including the UN agencies, humanitarian situation in Sudan is increasingly becoming catastrophic with many cases of deaths and injuries to civilians and humanitarian workers, attacks on civilians including sexual violence and targeting and looting of homes and premises including hospitals. Millions of Sudanese people have been displaced and fleeing Sudan to neighbouring countries such as Egypt, Uganda, Ethiopia and others.

The conference is therefore aims to coordinate and unify the efforts of all Sudanese abroad - individuals, groups, and institutions- to support the Sudanese people through global humanitarian and logistical contributions aimed at ending the war in Sudan and safeguarding its dignified people.

Theme

In his remarks about the conflict on Sudan on 17th April 2023, António Guterres, the United Nation Secretary-General stated that

"I strongly condemn the outbreak of fighting that is taking place in Sudan, and appeal to the leaders of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces to immediately cease hostilities, restore calm and begin a dialogue to resolve the crisis. I reaffirm that the United Nations stands with the people of Sudan at this very difficult time, with full support for their efforts to restore the democratic transition and build a peaceful, secure future."

We invite submissions of book chapters from Authors, Higher Education Institutions (universities, colleges and research institutions), Academic and Professional Societies, Government, NGOs, and Private Sector to consider this global book series to explore innovative strategies, collaborative initiatives, and transformative approaches that empower educational leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to accelerate progress towards re-building Sudan after the war towards a sustainable future in Sudan and implementing the the United Nations Agenda 2030 and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This multi-disciplinary book series aims to present the strategic vision on the future of Sudan after the war and a clear roadmap to achieve sustainable peace and rebuild Sudan in a way that ensures dignity and prosperity for its people. The chapters in the book will provide details of how to ensure relevant Diaspora groups are involved in the re-building and development of Sudan after the war.

To assess the suitability of submissions, authors are required to submit an abstract (100-150 words maximum) which concisely and clearly outlines the purpose, methodology, findings, contribution, limitation as well as practical implications (if applicable) of the chapter.

All abstracts and full chapters must be submitted directly via the portal. Please consult the Guidelines for Authors before submitting your abstract/chapter and you can also consult, in the first instance, Professor Allam Ahmed (allam@wasd.org.uk).
