Ideas For the youth by the youth – shaping the future of Sudan

Fifth International Online Conference (Face-to-Face) Queen Mary University of London
Friday 30th May 2025    (14:30-20:30 UK Time)

As we mark two years since the war erupted in Sudan and reflect on this difficult period, we witness not only the devastating toll on lives but also the remarkable resilience of our youth who have faced profound challenges, both directly and indirectly.

In line with the principles of Sustainable Development (SD) and youth empowerment, WASD is committed to ensuring that young people's perspectives are not only heard but celebrated. We believe youth should have the opportunity to shape their future, becoming a cornerstone of decisions made by governments and policymakers, with their ideas directly informing the decisions shaping Sudan's future.

Following the success of the previous conferences in this series, WASD is proud to announce a new multi-disciplinary emergency conference. This event will bring together Sudanese youth from inside Sudan and across the Diaspora (researchers, practitioners, policymakers, private sector professionals, and ordinary citizens) to share their strategic vision for Sudan’s future and explore how they can contribute during this critical time. Join us for this powerful conference, featuring both in-person and virtual sessions. We’ve created a flexible format that allows Sudanese youth worldwide to participate and share their voices, research, and innovative ideas for rebuilding Sudan.

We invite you to honour us with your presence and contributions. Let your perspectives, expertise, and passion flow in a dynamic and engaging environment. As a participant, you will have the chance to:

  • Present your research and ideas, or be inspired by fellow youth leaders' contributions.
  • Engage in interactive workshops, roundtable discussions, and critical debates on Sudan’s future.
  • Connect and collaborate with a diverse network of Sudanese youth in a dynamic, solution-focused space.
